Construction Web’s appointment of four new permanent staff members will further increase its ability to assist unemployed and low-skilled people into employment and training and engage with businesses to offer free advice and support.

Sheila Wright- Business Development Officer

Sheila was employed as Construction Web’s new business development officer in May 2005. Sheila has over 15 years experience working with small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs) in North London on project management and business development-related initiatives.

Sheila project managed a Sustainable Industrial Estates programme for the North London Chamber of Commerce prior to becoming a member of the Construction Web team. This work involved developing and supporting SMEs on two industrial estates. Sheila engaged with a number of partners in this role such as main contractor John Sisk Ltd, Design Consultants Faith & Gould, Enfield Council, Powergen, Thames Water, BT Plc and Coca Cola Enterprises Ltd)

Sheila is a member of the Institute of Business Advisors.

Graham Arnold – Workforce Development Officer

Graham joined Construction Web as the workforce development officer in April 2005 following a year working in the private sector for a specialist research and information consultancy. In this role Graham developed and delivered training programmes to law enforcement agencies and companies in the financially regulated sectors. Prior to this, Graham had spent his entire career in the public sector holding a number of senior positions in business development, project development, training management and contract delivery. In 1996 he set up the Tower Hamlets Modern Apprenticeship Scheme, which in 1998 was awarded the London East Training and Enterprise Council’s Blue Ribbon Award for Business Excellence. He also has a wealth of experience in establishing and delivering projects to small-to- medium enterprises supported by European Union and United Kingdom funding.

Caron Henry – Employment and Training Project Advisor

Caron joined Construction Web’s in April 2005 as the employment and training project advisor. Caron has worked within economic inactive communities assisting unemployed individuals and groups with re entering education training or careers. Caron is also employed by City and Islington College as a part-time trainee assessor observing and evaluating candidates studying the NVQ Level 3 and 4 in Advice and Guidance.

These skills will be greatly beneficial to her role at Construction Web. As the employment and training project advisor, Caron works in partnership with local initiatives to up-skill and assist individuals living in Enfield Haringey and Waltham Forest to access employment and/or training opportunities in the construction industry.

Angela Nikiforou – Employment and Training Officer (Part time)

 Angela joined the Construction web team in April 2005 as the part-time employment and training officer. Her role involves assisting individuals with the three boroughs of Waltham Forest, Enfield and Haringey to access employment and/or training opportunities. From August 2005 Angela will be based at O-Regen in Waltham Forest. Prior to joining Construction Web, Angela has worked in a number of different fields including marketing, recruitment and positions offering information, advice and guidance to disadvantaged communities.
